The Swarm of the Councilites

The Swarm of the Councilites

By Bill Dunn At times attempting to pay attention to what is going on in your local government is not unlike having a swarm of bees living in your head. So began the recent buzzing in my brain. It started a couple of weeks ago when the current mayor in the rotation here in Temple [...]

TaTas and the TSA

TaTas and the TSA

OPINION By Susan Motander Last Week I was listening to talk radio while driving to a medical appointment. Caller after caller complained to the host about the new scanners being used by the Transportation Safety Administration. Most of the men calling in were concerned about the “intrusive” nature of the body scans and the more [...]

Time for Tea, I think NOT!

Time for Tea, I think NOT!

Opinion By Terry Miller Having hailed from Great Britain, I have always been rather partial to a nice cup of tea. However after seeing the tactics of that last bastion of “fair and balanced” journalism – FOX news – I’ve developed rather a bitter taste in my mouth when it comes to Tea Time. The [...]

An Open Letter to Our Readers

When I first began my tenure as editor of these newspapers on the first day of 2008, we set forth a number of goals for our newspapers. Some of these are still works in progress, and some of these have been great successes. A shining example of the latter would have to be our efforts [...]

Op-Ed: SCAG Decision Should Not be Based on Scare Tactics and Misinformation

The only area city that is not a member of SCAG is Temple City.
So for a nominal membership dues fee, Sierra Madre can participate in planning its future, or it can choose to save that money, and have SCAG dictate to it what it has decided Sierra Madre is going to do (or not do).
