We all know someone who has been touched by cancer whether it’s a friend, a family member, or the neighbor down the street. Many of us are concerned about this disease and want to do something to make a difference.
American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Monrovia 2008 will be held on Saturday and Sunday, April 26th & 27th in Recreation Park from 11:00 am to 11:00 am. Relay For Life® is a fun-filled overnight event designed to bring together those who have been touched by cancer in our community. At the event, we celebrate survivorship and raise money to help the American Cancer Society in its mission to save lives, help those who have been touched by cancer, and empower individuals to fight back. During the event, teams will gather at the park and take turns walking or running laps. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Teams will also camp out overnight, participate in an incredible tribute to cancer survivors and caregivers and a moving Luminaria ceremony in the night honoring those who have fought the disease. The event is packed with fun activities for everyone, including games, fun contests, live entertainment, demonstrations, food, movies, and much more!
Join us and start working for a cancer-FREE community. YOUR support will help to: Find a cure; Spread the word; Call for a change and Provide services to cancer patients and their families.
This is a good opportunity to present organizations to show their involvement in Monrovia community. We expect more than couple of thousand participants to be there including team members, visitors, city officials, local businesses, real estate companies, and schools.
For more information on how to participate, Call: Ryan Asao (626)253-4557 or Mohna Manihar (626) 359-4114.
